You’ve given me a lot to think about with this, and you make very good points. But I wish Medium could have said this directly to us, their paying members.

No one has a right to be curated, of course. And most people won’t make the cut. But what pisses people off — what pisses me offis suddenly seeing your curation rates plummet without an explanation. If it’s a choice between artistic expression and straightforward clarity, I know which side I’ll pick. I’m always going to go with the singing violins of the angels rather than the metronomic thump of the factory floor.

That’s a choice I’ve made over and over again. But there was a time when Medium seemed to have space for both. I think you’re right that that time has passed, and I hope you’re right that it will come again.

Anyway, thank you for pointing this out. You’ve made me feel a lot better about what’s been going on lately with curation.
