Yes. Agreed. And equality is more than just a moral imperative - though it is certainly that. A society can never reach its full potential until every member of it is as free as possible to become everything they have it in them to be. Inequality is bad not just for individuals, but for society as a whole.

What I don't agree with in the article is the notion of collective guilt. That individuals are responsible for the actions of other individuals based on a shared demographic group is an obnoxious idea ordinarily employed by racists and xenophobes, not those arguing in favor of equality. We've been down this road before, and it never ends well.

It's precisely because I believe in equality that I reject the idea of collective guilt.
