Yeeesss, but...

Then we get into the problem of evil, and how to recognize it when we see it. The evil of the deer is the necessity of the wolf. When we're talking about the horrors of Auschwitz, it's easy to identify them as evil. But what about the actions we take every day that cause pain and suffering to others?

Violence can indeed be moral, but self-righteousness so often leads to greater evils. It's not as though Hitler woke up every morning thinking of himself as a villain.
