Well, that's exactly what I do. I'm an EU citizen living in France and working remotely, and in some sense, I'm taking advantage of France's relatively low house prices. I live in an area of high unemployment and low wages, and I can afford more than most of my neighbours.

Does that make me a bad person? I don't think so. The house I live in was a holiday home before I came and fixed it up. I put money into the local economy, and I'm doing my best to learn the language (my wife already speaks it quite well, though not fluently).

We all have to live somewhere. Where I live, English is not widely spoken, and it's still very French. But I know other towns in France that are now basically colonies of the UK, and I don't like it. Even as I recognize I'm part of the problem.
