I'm sure I don't need to tell you how many times editors or clients have told me to write more simply. Plain language. Short sentences. Nothing a not-particularly-bright 10 year old wouldn't understand.
I'm not going to say I would immediately pick out those samples you gave as AI. But I would instantly spot them as being very mediocre writing. A book written like that would quickly find itself tossed across the room in disgust.
What REALLY makes me sick is that we did this to ourselves. People don't know the difference between AI and human writing because they no longer know the difference between good and bad writing.
