This resonated. This is why I rarely bother posting my work on social media. Overwhelmingly, my friends just don't care. Even the ones who ARE big readers.

But it's not worth losing friends over. As you point out, just because my writing means a lot to me doesn't mean it means anything to them. If we all liked the same things, we wouldn't be different people.
