This can be a weird incestuous place sometimes. I would think that the economics of Medium would demand that the majority of users be pure readers, not writers. After all, even an unpopular writer like me easily makes back their subscription fee many times over.

But when people who aren't writers come here to read and are bombarded with articles about the platform itself, I can't imagine why they would stick around. Sometimes I suspect Medium is just hemorrhaging money.
