That's awful to see something like that, and I can understand a certain nihilism. I haven't ever seen something that horrific, so it's hard for me to argue for beauty and the sublime with someone who has.

Still, I don't think that the horror part of existence is the world as it is. Part of it, yes. But not the totality. The lens we see things through is not the thing itself, and if death exists even in Arcadia, then it has to be true that Arcadia exists even in death.
