No, because you need your kidneys and liver to live. You don’t need your appendix. And while it used to have a function, it doesn’t any more. The fact we still have it is bad design. Or would be, if we were designed.

That’s my point. If there were a guiding intelligence behind evolution, it’s doing a spectacularly bad job. It makes far more sense to me that we are evolutionary minimum viable products, our bodies just good enough to survive and reproduce.
