Interesting thoughts. Some of us were born to grow deep roots; others were made to move. There’s no doubt that travel changes you, but time does that anyway, whether you stay or go. Your takeaway is spot-on; the one constant in life is change, and the ‘secure' path is no more secure than that of a nomad. Maybe less.

Personally, I’m trying to find a balance that works for me. If I had my way, I’d live forever in hotels like a modern Joseph Roth. My wife is more interested in stability. For us, the answer is going to be to live somewhere that makes travel easy, but still have a home to go back to.

Anyway, thanks for your perspective. It’s given me lots to think about!
