I think there are Occitane schools, but I don't know how popular they are. Just to the south of here is French Catalonia, and Catalan is very much a living language in daily use - though more so in Spanish Catalonia than in the French region. There's a real cultural identity there that I don't see with Occitan. Sometimes I think that attempts to stamp out a language and a culture can often have the opposite effect, and end up strengthening that cultural identity in opposition.
