I love these little vignettes of French life you write!

I remember being in Cannes on Beaujolais day a couple of years ago. I don’t know much about wine and had no idea this was a thing until I saw every cafe packed and overflowing with people discussing the merits of that year’s vintage. Trucks would pull up and deliver cases of the stuff, so much that it had to be piled on the street outside the cafe. But the customers got through it no problem.
