Hmmm, interesting. Though I can think of lots of jobs with the risk of harming others that don't pay that well, either. (Nursing or driving for Uber isn't making anyone a millionaire.)
I don't know that there's a strong relationship between risk and high pay. The arts don't pay because humans are naturally artistic, and the supply of wannabe artists will always outstrip demand. Plus, the world being the way it is, talent is no predictor of success in the arts. There are far better writers than, for instance, JK Rowling on Medium, but all of us together don't have her money.
