As a general rule, I don't read anything that has the T word in the title. I've heard enough about that gobshite to last several lifetimes, and I'm not even American. But when I saw it was a Jazprose, I reconsidered.

I'm glad I did. This is a stunning piece full of sensory detail that draws readers in to a particular time and place, while still being universal. This is a piece worthy of the classics it pays homage to, Andrew.
