A thin line to walk indeed. I’m no fan of charlatanism or fuzzy thinking. I believe in the scientific method wholeheartedly. But that doesn’t preclude me from some mystical experiences of the world.
To me, there doesn’t need to be any conflict between the two. Science is a process of discovery, and it never claims to have all the answers. There is so much we don’t currently know, it’s breathtaking. And thrilling.
The funny thing is, the more I learn about the world, the more my mystical leanings seem to make sense. Nothing I ever believed is as strange and wild as quantum entanglement, for instance. My sense of awe and wonder at the universe is enhanced by science, not diminished by it.
Anyway, thanks for a thought-provoking article!
