9 hours direct flight, but I factored in all the fun bureacracy of Covid and flying with a cat. It's 5 hours on a fast train from Paris, but only 3 hours from Barcelona. Or, if you can get one of the few fast trains from Barcelona, only an hour and 20 minutes.

We just didn't want to have to deal with traveling through another country where we don't speak the language with the cat to worry about. She really makes things difficult!
